Comparison between methods to estimate bicep femoris fascicle length from three estimation equations using a 10 cm ultrasound probe

نویسندگان

چکیده

The aim of the present study was to determine reliability and differences between three fascicle length (FL) estimation methods when utilizing a 10-cm ultrasound (US) probe. Thirteen males (24.1 ± 3.8 years, 79.3 14 kg, 179 6.6 cm) participated. Bicep femoris long head (BFLH) US images were collected on two separate occasions. Three previously established extrapolation utilized. Near-perfect observed for all methods. Criterion resulted in significant, trivial (p = 0.016,g 0.17) increase FL compared basic trigonometry equation with non-significant, 0.081,g 0.10) criterion partial measure method. method not significantly or meaningfully greater than 0.286,g 0.08). Both alternative demonstrated unacceptable LOA (>5%), heteroscedasticity. All are reliable could be used over time. However, as comparable, there rationale utilize underestimated results ensure degree cushioning.

Information from dynamic length changes improves reliability of static ultrasound fascicle length measurements

Purpose Various strategies for improving reliability of fascicle identification on ultrasound images are used in practice, yet these strategies are untested for effectiveness. Studies suggest that the largest part of differences between fascicle lengths on one image are attributed to the error on the initial image. In this study, we compared reliability results between different strategies. M...

Comparison of the muscle fascicle length between resistance-trained and untrained individuals: cross-sectional observation

BACKGROUND Muscle plasticity is an important topic in the fields of sport science and physical therapy. The purpose of this study was to examine whether muscle fascicle length increases with resistance training through a comparison between resistance-trained and untrained individuals. If a hypothesis that fascicle length increases by resistance training is true, fascicle length should be longer...

Synergism between the Mapping Projects from SNOMED CT to ICD-10 and ICD-10-CM

Two mapping projects are currently underway, creating maps from SNOMED CT to ICD-10 and ICD-10-CM respectively. Even though the two projects belong to different organizations, there has been a lot of synergism between them. The ICD-10-CM map project heavily re-used the mapping methodology, tools and map data developed in the ICD-10 map project. An algorithm was derived to generate candidate ICD...
